Paul Davis Architects is a design-oriented office just inland from Venice, CA (WLA). We do custom, detail-intensive residential, retail, and commercial work - including restaurant/hospitality projects - with an emphasis on craft and sustainability. At this time we are looking for a top-flight licensure-path architect with a strong academic design background (bachelors or masters degree from an accredited institution) and at least 5-7 years experience with US offices that are dedicated to ambitious design, client service, carefully considered detailing, and highest quality graphic presentation.
The ideal applicant will have exceedingly strong design skills, demonstrated capacity in project management, and be able to assemble filing, pricing, and contract document sets with limited guidance as to basic formatting and necessary information. Excellent written and oral communications skills are vital, as are knowledge of building code/zoning and permitting processes. We appreciate LEED credentials. Restaurant design experience is a plus.
Our office uses Vectorworks on Mac platform for 2D drawing preparation. We will train experienced AutoCAD users.
Necessary additional skills include excellent client/consultant/contractor-relations ability, field experience conducting construction administration, and facility with Adobe creative suite programs, as well as current modeling and rendering software (Rhino, SketchUp, etc.).
Applicants must have appropriate US work visa.
Please send a brief cover letter, resume, and samples of relevant academic and professional work (including construction document excerpts and details) to email.
Limit files sizes to 5 MB. We look forward to hearing from you, but appreciate your not visiting or telephoning our office as an initial mode of contact.
