Senior Architect
31/07/2014Medium-sized architecture firm is seeking a practiced Senior Architect with excellent design skill and 8-15 years professional experience. The best candidate will have a demonstrated enthusiasm for environmental stewardship and will be able to capture the vision of our firm.
The ideal candidate must meet the following qualifications:
- 8-15 years professional experience.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture.
- Exceptional design and critical thinking skills.
- Thorough working knowledge of building codes, standards and construction.
- Completion of multiple construction document sets and construction administration experience.
- Comfort in working independently; demonstrates professionalism in dealing with a variety of high-end clients as well as consultants.
- Leadership and management skills with experience over-seeing multiple junior team members.
- Computer skills should include Revit, AutoCAD, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, SketchUp and 3Ds Max.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and organized, with strong graphic and communication skills.
COOKFOX Architects is a New York City studio dedicated to a vision of integrated, environmentally responsive design. Guided by a passion for design excellence and a belief in the collaborative process, COOKFOX seeks out select projects that fundamentally re-think how buildings interact with people and the natural environment. Staff Designer
31/07/2014Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects, a design practice with offices in Virginia, New York and California is seeking a Staff Designer with three to six years of professional experience for our New York, New York office. We are committed to design excellence in the creation of landscapes that are sustainable and honor ecological and cultural contexts of place. The broad knowledge base and diverse backgrounds of our staff contributes greatly to the firm’s ability to work on a diverse range of projects and to respond effectively to individual client needs.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong design and graphic production skills including hand drawing and rendering.
Candidates should have a full range of project experience from conceptual design through construction administration. Strong consideration will be given to those candidates with proficiency developing construction documentation. Candidates must be detail oriented, efficient, adaptable to changing deadlines and priorities and work well collaboratively.
Designers are expected to think critically and contribute creatively to the design process. The ideal candidate will share NBW's commitment to design excellence.
Skills required:
- Must have three (3) years minimum of applicable experience in a professional setting.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD and MS Office required.
- Working knowledge of 3D modeling programs Rhino, SketchUp and associated plug-ins.
- Working knowledge of GIS and Revit preferred.
- Ability to construct and administer CAD drawings in accordance with office standards.
- Construction document and detailing experience.
- Strong oral, written and graphic communication skills.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to self-edit work and command a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to travel to client locations and work occasional nights/weekends.
Education requirements:
MLA or M.Arch desired; BSLA/BLA or related degrees will be considered based on experience and design strength NBW offers excellent benefits and a competitive salary commensurate with experience. EOE.
