10/10/2014COOKFOX Architects is seeking an architect with 5-10 years professional experience and excellent design skills to join our 65-person studio. The best candidates will have a demonstrated enthusiasm for environmental stewardship, and will be inspired the firm’s vision for environmentally responsive design.
The ideal candidate must meet the following qualifications:
- 5-10 years professional experience.
- Strong design skills and critical thinking.
- Knowledge of NYC building codes, standards and construction methods.
- Experience in construction document preparation and field observation.
- Demonstrates professionalism in dealing with a variety of clients as well as consultants.
- Experience over-seeing junior team members.
- Computer skills should include Revit, AutoCAD, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, SketchUp, and 3DMax.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and organized, with strong graphic and communication skills.
COOKFOX seeks out projects that fundamentally re-think how buildings interact with people and the natural environment. Starting with intensive research, we seek to understand each project in its natural, cultural, and contemporary context. Inspired by concepts such as biophilia and biomimicry, we are pursuing architecture that restores and regenerates the urban environment.

Senior Interior Designer

You will:
- Investigate tasks strategically and analytically.
- Lead concept ideation and brainstorming sessions.
- Independently develop forward-looking concepts and their production, communication, and implementation.
- Elaborate spatial concepts in a variety of forms (sketch, 3D model, etc.)
- Create client presentations.
- Lead communication with the client.
You are:
- A holistic, conceptual thinker able to collaborate with other design-related disciplines (e.g. product design, UX/UI, graphic, media…)
- An experienced interior designer with 5+ years experience.
- A well-rounded individual who can work on a diverse range of projects.
- An outgoing, positive and a motivated team player.
- Used to work independently.
- Skilled in conceptualising and visualising.
- Able to communicate design ideas to the team and to clients.
- Are highly creative and have a constructive understanding associated with a high design standard.
- Experienced in dealing with CMF and able to develop intuitively.
- Fluent in computer tools ArchiCAD or Vectorworks, Adobe CS Suite and MS Office, Rhino and /or Cinema4D are a plus.
- Fluent in English - other languages are a plus.
- Fluent German is a great benefit but not essential.
