BergerABAM’s Buildings and Transit department in Federal Way or Seattle, WA seeks an experienced architectural or structural designer with capabilities in Revit software to develop models and construction packages for building architectural and structural projects. The ideal candidate has progressive design experience in a variety of building types including industrial, public agency, parking and transit facilities, or a combination of these project types. The candidate will work on project teams to solve design problems with innovative solutions and complete project plan submittals.

Position requires:

- 5 years relevant design experience.
- Prefer AA/AS degree in Computer Aided Design, Engineering Technology or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering.
- Thorough competency and advanced project experience using Revit software.

In this niche market of muesum and visitor experience design this established and well respected design practice has become an important leader in the Asia-Pacific region. With projects all over the world, they require a Senior Designer for their team based in Hong Kong.

This great Senior Designer Hong Kong position, involves you working in a small and creative team from concept to completion which can be 2 or 3 years ahead. You will have the mindset of improving, growing and continually learning. Naturally inquisitive and want to analyse design to understand more. You will have natural empathy and an understanding of how people use design and have a desire to explore emotional as well as physical interaction. An inherent self-awareness and a good positive personality is preferred. A strong belief in teamwork and collaboration to improve the output of work. You will naturally try to explore the design and take it further than the obvious limits. As the team is small the designer will be required to be flexible and to handle all parts of the work whilst dealing with the very long time frames. Experience of working well with sub-contractors beyond the normal scope of fit-out including; software, audiovisual technology and mechanicals. A designer with a world view or global perspective and with the conviction in their ideas.

You will need to be Chinese speaking and fluent in English and have over 3 – 8 years of experience to be considered for this Senior Designer role in Hong Kong. Your impressive portfolio will include Museum, Visitor Experience and permanent Exhibition projects. Experience of how technology and mechanics can be integrated into the design is essential. You will also have extensive client presentation expertise and be proficient in software skills of AutoCAD, Photoshop and Sketch-Up.
