Junior Designer

26/11/2014
We presently have positions open in our New York Office on several important local and international projects, both cultural and residential, for skilled young design talent with 1-3 years' experience.

wHY is seeking inquisitive, adventurous architects/designers, whose desire to dive deep into challenging waters is matched only by their passion for making and doing. As design and production are inseparable in our process, we want to work alongside mature individuals with strong team player skills, a willingness to roll up their sleeves, and an informed, broad perspective. Your versatility and agility will serve you well here.

Why work at wHY? We strive to create a rewarding workshop environment for our team, with liberal creative expression and the implementation of ideas across a wide variety of media. We are a young, growing firm, where opportunities are yours for the making and taking. Beyond our esprit de corps, our thirst for knowledge, experience, and new perspectives is manifested in our weekly office meetings, bi-weekly project shares, and frequent salon events featuring civic, entrepreneurial and cultural luminaries. We work hard, play hard, and eat well.

wHY is a thriving workshop of interdisciplinary creativity for conceptualizing and crafting the built environment. Our collaborative approach towards architecture and design aims to meet any challenge and solve pertinent problems with the highest caliber of quality and intelligence in construction. We seek to explore how an institution's mission can be embodied and enhanced in its facilities. Each new project is considered unique; embarked upon with fertile, ground-breaking imagination and no pre-determined style. Woven into all of our work is a pragmatic dialogue between the common threads of art, community, and space- combination that serves to stimulate, inspire, and delight the human condition.

If you would like to become part of the wHY team, please send cover letter and CV along with relative examples of work (in low resolution PDF format only) to email.

- Including your name and experience level in the subject line will make us happy.
- Attachments over 5 MB won't.
- We are a busy office (partly why we're reaching out to you) so please refrain from calling- we will respond to all suitable candidates.
