Francoise Bollack Architects is a small, collaborative studio headed by Francoise Bollack. Her 30 yrs of experience as an architect, 20 yrs of experience as an educator and her ongoing position as Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia University ensure that the studio environment is enriching and challenging.
The work at FBA is design oriented with a specialty in adaptive reuse; we believe that new designs incorporating existing elements result in richer buildings. Francoise Bollack recently published an award winning book, Old Buildings New Forms, which examines the convergence of new design and historic architecture.
Some of our projects have included:
- Design of a new business resource center in Manhattan (adaptive reuse of an existing building).
- Implementation of a FBA designed master plan for a prominent landmark apartment building in Manhattan.
- Design of a new structural glass entry for an apartment building in a landmark district.
- Restoration of significant lobbies in Manhattan.
- Historic structures report for a historic significant building in Staten Island.
Interested applicants should be detail oriented, have good presentation & communication skills, and be able to express ideas clearly through sketches and other visual media.
Proficiency in VectorWorks, VectorWorks 3D, and Photoshop are a plus.
