Our client is a large Architectural practice based in Birmingham and is looking for a fully Part 3 qualified Architect to come and lead many large scale projects across the UK. Our client specialises in large scale retirement villages and care homes, whilst also designing commercial and leisure facilities within the Midlands. Having gone through the recession relatively unscathed, the company has had an incredibly busy period which they have sustained for the past 12 months and is projected to only get stronger.

The role is for a Senior Architect with strong design and technical ability, to join the biggest team within the company and immediately begin to lead major projects. This is a role with fantastic progression potential into Associate level and Directorship in the near future, and they are looking for a committed individual, ideally with some management experience.

The successful candidate will be absolutely proficient with AutoCAD and will have a minimum of 10 years post part 3 qualification experience. They will be a strong designer and will have excellent 3D skills. This will be demonstrated by a strong CV and portfolio highlighting a selection of their work. Experience in relevant sectors such as ;domestic, residential, care homes and commercial would be desirable. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate their ability to take a project through a full planning process and needs to be comfortable with all UK building regulations.

Responsibilities include:

- Developing conceptual designs through sketching and ArchiCAD models.
- Contributing to design charettes with team.

- Estimating for design build projects.
- Assistance with construction administration and job site visits.
- Client communications and project management.

Requirements for position:

- Professional architectural experience (2+ years preferred).
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in architecture.
- Strong design sense and freehand sketching ability.
- Knowledge of construction documents and building technology.
- Confidence with using ArchiCAD / modeling software.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Effective writing and verbal communication.
