Our 25 person, award winning, design-focused architecture firm based in NYC is seeking to hire a senior-level interior designer with exceptional design and communication skills. Responsibilities include assisting architects through all phases of a project, generating furniture and finish plans, researching materials and resources for the interiors library, millwork design, and specifying and selecting FF & E.
Qualifications:
- A professional degree in Interior Design.
- Knowledge of appropriate materials, finishes and furniture.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in residential, commercial and institutional design.
- Ability to effectively work in a team atmosphere and meet deadlines.
- Must have creative design and drawing skills – including material, color and furniture selection, design presentation skills, conceptual design abilities and 3D design ability. Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Excellent organization, communication and research skills.
- Experience with 3D Modeling and Photoshop a plus.

Ten person design firm seeks (2) responsible self-motivated intern architects with one to three years and the other with two to four years professional experience for full-time assignment to residential projects in the city and surrounding area.
Responsibilities primarily include assisting the firm’s partners and project architects in all aspects of project design, construction documentation and site work for specified projects. Applicants should demonstrate the sensitivity to thorough coordination and technical detailing that is commensurate with luxury residential projects. Manual drawing skills are essential and Micro-Station or AutoCAD experience is necessary. Successful involvement in assisting a team leader will result in subsequent assignments on a more independent basis.
Cicognani Kalla Architect was founded in 1985 and specializes in single-family residential projects, museum and art gallery work, office headquarters and restaurant projects, all of a high level of detail. The office won a competition for the Heinz Architectural Center that was completed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1993.
