Roger Mears Architects are looking for an Architect or Architectural Technologist, preferably with job-running experience, an interest in conservation and an eye for detail to work on a range of projects. Initially as maternity cover, but with a view to full time employment.

We are a small office and have a particular interest in historic buildings, principally domestic and churches. We aim to follow the principles of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB).

Required Skills & Experience for an Architect

- Part III qualified or higher.
- Minimum of 2 years working in a professional practice, ideally in the UK.
- Experience working through a variety of RIBA stages would be advantageous.
- An interest in conservation and experience of working on historic buildings.
- Able to demonstrate a practical approach and experience with detailing.
- Ability to work in 2D and 3D CAD.
- Vectorworks proficiency would be advantageous.

This role requires taking responsibility for some projects, including preparing drawings and specifications, working collaboratively with a Partner. For some projects you will liaise directly with clients, consultants and contractors; on others you will be asked to work collaboratively in an in-house team.
