Qualifications:

- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience working in a collaborative office environment.
- Demonstrated ability to produce documentation for built projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and self-monitor progress in order to meet expectations.
- Professional degree in Architecture, Design, or related field.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, at least one 3D modeling program, at least one 3D rendering/visualization program, and Adobe products as part of the design and documentation process.
- Structural and detail design experience a plus.
- US work authorization required.

McMahon-Baek Architecture, DPC is a small firm working in high-end residential architecture and design. The office, located in Gowanus, Brooklyn, also has a separate workshop studio with 3D printing, woodworking, and ceramics capabilities for developing independent projects.

We are seeking Riba Qualified Architects to join our central Birmingham studio. We have a broad portfolio of work across multiple sectors and are an AJ120 Practice. We have recently secured a number of exciting projects in the Education Sector and are looking for talented Architects to join our team. You should be proficient in AutoCAD, and have Revit experience with at least three years’ experience of UK planning and building regulations applications. Multi-tasking and time management skills are essential. You will need excellent communication skills, be a team player and also confident with strong initiative to work independently. You should have achieved excellent academic results and have excellent all round communication skills.

Responsibilities:

- Carrying out site surveys.
- Preparing planning drawings using BIM.
- Conducting research into architectural design, building regulations and planning issues.
- Preparing feasibility studies and presentations.
- Preparing tender and construction drawings using BIM.
- Preparing design and access statements.
- Liaising with clients, planning officers and stakeholders.
- Dealing with projects from planning applications through to construction.
- Assisting Architects & Senior staff with day to day activities.

Requirements:

- Excellent design sense, and organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to provide and co-ordinate detailed drawings for construction.
- Outstanding design ability, RIBA Part III qualified with good technical skills.
- A high level of understanding of UK building regulations technical requirements.
- Experience in submitting and managing planning applications in the UK essential.
- Ability to deal directly with clients, planning officers and stakeholders in a professional manner.
- Knowledge of using a variety of media in the development and documentation of an architectural designs.
- Highly proficiency in AutoCAD and also Revit preferred (although training will be provided).
- Ability to multitask, prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Enthusiasm & commitment.
