S9 Architecture is seeking a highly motivated Interior Architect to join our team in our New York office. This is an opportunity to join a team of professionals committed to creating meaningful architecture and beautiful spaces.

You will have exceptional design skills, be able to market and maintain client relationships. You will work closely with Principals and Project Managers to promote our design approach and philosophy.

You should have a strong interest in interiors and be enthusiastic about teamwork. You are experienced in the prime design, rehabilitation, or adaptive re-use of building interiors and exteriors. You should be experienced in performing architectural design on residential and commercial high-rise buildings, retail buildings and building exterior envelopes, plazas, parking garages, and waterproofing/roofing systems and details.

Your experience must clearly show a strong creative design portfolio along with strong project leadership. You have the ability to integrate into all project phases and should possess a strong technical knowledge of interior systems that would be required by corporate, residential and mixed-use project interiors.

- Seven or more years of experience and progressive responsibilities in all phases of architecture and substantial experience in the innovative design of complex, small and large-scale workplace projects in the US, local NY experience is desired.
- High level skills and experience in conceptual design phases and instigation of projects including high quality design research, sketching, illustration and communication of concepts..
- Critical design thinking throughout the design process.
- Proficiency in Autocad, at least one 3D tool (preferably Rhino or Sketchup), Adobe Suite and MS Office.
- Proficiency in Revit and other 3D imaging design software is preferred.
- Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
- A deadline and detail-oriented work ethic.
- Construction documentation.
- FF&E Design and Specifications.
- Completion of a professional degree program.
- Demonstrated thorough knowledge of architectural design, detailing, building materials, building codes, construction techniques, coordination of consultants and costs.
- Corporate interiors and residential experience required.
- Develop and Coordinate detailed design concepts.
- Ownership and generation of project documents including plans, sections, details, etc., in coordination of a complete construction document package.
- Coordinate with consultants and/or clients.
- Registered or pursuing registration preferred, Leed ap plus.
