Architect

06/01/2017
A Riba award winning, multi-disciplinary practice, best known for their higher education and high-end Residential projects, now seek two experienced Architects / Job runners to join them in their Greenwich based office. With an aim to always produce deep and rich Architecture, each project is designed to appreciate its surroundings and culture. The practices core sectors include Workspace, high-end residential and regeneration, however a large number of their projects are educational focused and based in the South West of England. Due to a flurry of new projects and plans to continue expanding the number of Residential and higher education projects they take on, my client now need to grow by another 5 staff (of a variety of levels) in order to manage their 2017 & 2018 pipeline.

Being a real ‘team player' is vital for this role, as you'll have the opportunity to work with everyone in the office on a number of different projects at one time. The Directors are heavily involved in each and every project, so a confident character with a desire to influence decisions and push ideas forward is very welcomed.Originally Vectorworks users, the practice is transitioning into Revit, making a conscious effort to take as many new projects forward using this programme. As an Architect, you'll be working with both Vectorworks and Revit across all RIBA stages, on a number of different projects, one of which is a medical school that is currently underway. Experience and confidence running a job from conception to completion is vital for this position. You will report directly to the Project Associate along with the two Directors and will be expected to manage a small selection of more junior team members.

Required Skills & Experience

- A Qualified Part III, with a minimum of 2 years' experience within a professional practice since qualifying.
- A minimum of 3 years UK experience.
- Experience in delivering Educational, commercial and Residential projects.
- Have a good balance of design and technical ability.
- Excellent ability in detailing and specification writing.
- Experience managing a small team of Part II's.
- Ability to manage workload efficiently, be well organised and self-motivated.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- A positive attitude and approach.
- The ability to run jobs all the way through from conception to completion.
- A sociable character.
- Confident putting your ideas forward to Senior team members.
- Experience using Vectorworks or Revit is essential.
- Working knowledge of Sketch Up and InDesign.
- Fluent spoken and written English.

Soft Benefits

You'll be joining a close knit team that enjoy social events and make a conscious effort to include each other in these. The company have annual summer and Christmas events and a chocolate drawer (it's exactly as it sounds), that is open to scoffing and topped up weekly. Although contractual working hours are 9.30 am - 6.00 pm, the office opens at 8 am, so flexible working hours are open to request.
