Based in New York City, Studio Link-Arc, LLC is an international team of architects and designers. Our name, Link-Arc, refers to the practice’s collaborative nature as well as the company’s mission, which is to work across disciplines to create strategy and design in the fields of urban planning, architecture, spatial art and landscape. We accomplish this by linking knowledge, resources, and intelligence, from multiple perspectives and diverse backgrounds.

Studio Link-Arc designed the China Pavilion for Expo Milano 2015, which opened in May 2015 to international acclaim. The office has been published extensively, has received many awards, and was recently included in Architectural Record’s Design Vanguard 2015. We are currently working on a campus archive library, a major 500,000 sf educational project, an extension and renovation of a high-end flagship store in Manhattan, and a number of design competitions.

We are looking for a motivated and talented designer with strong leadership qualities to join our studio.

Experience and Qualifications

- A professional degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- 3-5 years of substantial work experience in leading architecture offices.
- Applicants with experience at avant-garde design studios will receive favorable review.
- Fluency in Mandarin is a plus.

Technical skills and knowledge

- Expertise in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Expertise in the preparation of design development and construction documents.
- Knowledge of 2D presentation software including Adobe Creative Suite.
- Extensive experience preparing design presentations.
- Knowledge of modeling and rendering programs including Rhino, Maya, 3DStudio Max, and Catia.
- Expertise in scripting programs including: Python, Grasshopper, RhinoScript, and Processing.
- Knowledge of architectural detailing and familiarity with building systems.

Design sensibility, interpersonal, and management skills

- Strong design skills and contemporary design sensibilities.
- Self-directed, with a strong work ethic and a high level of initiative.
- The ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication ability and excellent critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines.

This AvroKO Junior Designer position is open to recent graduates with up to a year of post graduate experience with an emphasis in interior design of hospitality projects. The Junior Designer works closely with our senior designers and project managers as a supporting staff member in performing professional services and producing deliverables, with a strong emphasis in design and conceptual thinking.

Core Responsibilities: Supporting the Senior Designer in creating designs and delivering presentations. Specifically;

Developing designs as part of a collaborative team and preparing, presentations consisting of mood boards, plans, elevations, perspectives (in hand and CGI model) as well as sourcing, selecting and presenting materials, finishes and FF&E.

Developing art features and styling moments as part of our project designs.

Under the supervision of a Senior Designer.

Assist in developing designs through design development, supporting in the integration of the work of other disciplines.

Preparation of contract documents including working drawings and FF&E specifications.

Supporting Construction Administration activities during the delivery of the project.

We’re looking for a talented, creative, collaborative, conceptual designer who brings passion and enthusiasm for conceptual thinking, and crafting a story and narrative to reveal a unique and holistic design that encompass the whole guest experience through interior design, art, graphics, furnishings and lighting.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Demonstrated design talent and conceptual thinking, and demonstrated interest in hospitality and hospitality design.
- BA/BS required in interior design, interior architecture or architecture. Masters preferred.
- Recent graduate and up to one (1) year post graduate experience at an architecture or interior design firm, with an emphasis in high end hospitality design.
- Outstanding presentation skills including verbal, written and illustrative. You’re confident and articulate.
- Advanced proficiency utilizing the following tools.
- Pen and Paper – nothing beats a quick evocative hand sketch.
- Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign and Photoshop, 3D Presentation techniques, be it by hand, Sketch Up, Rhino or Max.

MS Office Suite

Working of knowledge of Revit or Spexx is a plus but not required.

- The ideal candidate will be team oriented and an excellent communicator, (superb proficiency in written and spoken English is a must) self-motivated, and comfortable in a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
- You must already be eligible to work in the United States of America and be in the New York City area.
