Entry Level Designer

20/01/2017
Based in Los Angeles and New York, wHY was founded by Kulapat Yantrasast in 2004 and has established itself in the international design vanguard for completing widely-acclaimed projects that serve the arts, communities, and the environment. The 30+ person practice is structured as an “Ecology of Disciplines”—four workshops focusing on ideas, buildings, grounds and objects—to approach projects from multiple angles resulting in holistic, sustainable designs. Much like we like our projects to be unique, our office is also diverse and enjoy a truly collaborative working methodology.

We are looking for Entry Level Designers who have strong design and production skills. Specifically, the expansion of the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, expansion and renovation of a museum in Massachusetts, several gallery/art spaces, private houses and numerous competitions/special projects.

Skills and Credentials:

- Ability to work and multi-task in a design intensive, collaborative environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative-Suite (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop).
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD in the work environment.
- Excellent 3D rendering/modeling skills – Rhino / V-Ray.
- Range of physical model making and/or fabrication techniques.
- Immediate availability.

At least one year professional work experience in an architectural office is required, preferably in the US. Entry level positions are salaried, commensurate with relevant experience. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States. wHY is an equal opportunity employer.

Please send as one PDF a cover letter, resume and selected work samples to email (subject heading: position_your name). File should be no larger than 6MB.
