Space Exploration is an award-winning integrated architecture and interior design practice based in Brooklyn. We specialize in the design of homes, retail boutiques and hospitality venues, with a focus on integrating historical elements with complementary modern design. Founded in 2008 by principal Kevin Greenberg, Space Exploration has designed a number of notable restaurants in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Jersey City, including Walter's, Mathew's, Karasu and Glasserie, along with many private residences in New York City, Montauk, Los Angeles and Miami Beach.

We are currently seeking a designer to join our team. The successful applicant should have a strong interest in interiors and be enthusiastic about teamwork and design research, and should possess excellent writing skills, rendering skills, and have a thoughtful and professional disposition towards clients. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the Project Architect and the Principal in developing projects through all phases of design and construction. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants lots of hands on experience with all phases of the project arc.

Candidates should have the following qualities:

- Professional architecture degree (B.Arch or higher).
- At least 2-4 years of design experience. Construction experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Autocad, at least one 3D tool (preferably Rhino or Sketchup), Adobe Suite and MS Office.
- Ability to produce drawings for all design phases,
- Concept through construction documents with thorough technical detailing and annotation.
- Ability to prepare digital renderings in a timely manner.
- Ability to produce materials for client presentations (Powerpoint, Indesign docs).
- Ability to research materials, system specifications and manufacturers specs.
- Posses a high level of organization for administrative tasks, time-tracking.

Job description: Shubin + Donaldson Architects in Santa Barbara is seeking a motivated Architect with 7-10 years of experience in publication-quality commercial and residential projects as an addition to our team. S+D is currently undertaking a diverse range of new projects, including ground-up construction, commercial renovations, creative workplaces, and custom residences.

Position requirements: Candidates must have demonstrated proficiency in conceptual design, design presentation, and construction documentation. Must have experience handling projects in the United States, working with plan checkers in a variety of jurisdictions in California, and coordinating with multiple State, County and City agencies to bring projects from the planning phase to issuance of Certificate of Occupancy.We are seeking a talented individual with the ability to work both independently in a self-directed manner as well as collaboratively within a project team. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential. Proficiency with developing construction documents and experience in Revit are required. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture.
