Partners & Spade is seeking an experienced architect / interior design leader with extensive interiors experience and high level fluency with Rhinosaurus 3D to support significant brand level retail projects.

Job Description

- Professional Degree.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years high end architectural design experience in all phases of a project from Schematic Design through Construction Administration.
- Project management and strategic planning experience.
- Proactive and ability to meet project timelines and client expectations a must.
- Experience with sourcing and specification: furniture, finishes, equipment, lighting.
- Strong skills In Conceptual Design, Building Planning, Detailing, and Presentation.
- Conduct design research.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Communicate design intent to fabricators, architects, contractors and vendors and ensure timely delivery of all items through clear internal milestones.
- Review all architectural plans, shop drawings, lighting proposals and other documentation related to design development.

Skills and Requirements

- Ability to manage projects, collaborate with consultants and drive projects forward.
- Extremely organized and detail oriented.
- Strong graphic eye and visual presentation skills.
- Construction Documentation, (including design details).
- Previous Full Construction Phase Experience.
- Fluency in AutoCad and Adobe CS.
- High level fluency with Rhinosaurus 3D.
- Retail and or hospitality experience is a plus.
- An open mind, desire to learn new things, flexibility to perform a variety of tasks.

Studioteka is a small dynamic firm with a variety of commercial and residential projects located in a beautiful loft space in the heart of Dumbo. In contrast to a stuffy corporate office, you’ll find our space relaxed, friendly and informal, and fun to work in!

What we're looking for: dedicated, motivated individuals looking for a hands-on work experience with as much responsibility as you can handle. Maturity and a high level of motivation are important. We have a large scale project that's moving into the next design phase (urban design, architecture, and interior design) as well as some exciting new projects in the works, so we are looking for people with 1 - 5 years of office experience. For the summer internship, previous practical experience in building or making things (whether experience in architecture, interiors, furniture or product design) is a plus, as are skills in 3D visualization. We are also looking for people with a fair degree of practical experience on a job site, great design and interpersonal skills, as well as a high degree of comfort in putting together drawing sets and client presentations. All candidates should have excellent communication skills and be well organized and self-motivated. An adventurous spirit and a love of design are a must, as is the ability to work in an informal design studio atmosphere. Spoken and written Spanish a big plus. Compensation will depend upon the skill and experience level of applicants and the mix of projects in the office.

Start date: Immediately to early March 2017.

Candidates should have a working knowledge of Autocad, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and In-Design. Preference will be given to candidates who also have proficiency in 3D Studio Max, Rhino or other 3D programs. An interest and a passion for innovative sustainable design that intelligently blends research and practicality is key.
