The Project Architect shall assume a leadership role through the entire process of an architectural project - guiding a project team in the creation of design-sensitive concepts through innovative design and technical solutions. Our studio covers multiple practice areas including multi-unit residential, senior living, higher education, hospitality and corporate interiors.
Job responsibilities:
- Takes responsibility for the design of an assigned portion or the complete project.
- Working with a principal, leads a project team in the preparation of the architectural design for a project.
- Prepares design presentations including renderings, models, sample boards and related design graphics.
- Ensures that the design meets the client’s and all regulatory requirements and is constructible from any and all documents provided for that purpose.
- Lead the architectural team and its consultants in the development and implementation of innovative project design - from inception through completion.
- Assist the Project Leadership in directing and organizing the entire project team and the guidance of younger staff.
- Ably represent our firm to our client, consultants, contractors, and jurisdictional authorities.
- Play a lead role in the technical preparation and execution of the project documents.
- Deliver projects within prescribed schedule and within budget.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to good design and a balance of design and technical skills.
Key skills:
- Bachelor or Master degree in Architecture is preferred.
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of architectural experience is required, with at least five years of recent Project Architect experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Prior experience on senior living /health care projects is preferred.
- High proficiency in Revit/BIM, ACAD and Sketch-up is required.
- Leed ap is preferred.
- Experience in graphic rendering – including Rhinoceros, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign – is preferred.
- Licensed required.

- Implement creative solutions with a focus on innovation and quality.
- Work with Design Directors and Senior Designers in the development of conceptual design, schematic design, design development, production and specification.
- Produce graphic presentation, 3D drawings/sketches and CADD drawings.
- Develop FF&E palette, maintain FF&E budgets, and produce specifications.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited university.
- 5 + years’ extensive experience in all phases of interior design, including and varied experience involving planning and interior design of complex projects.
- Strong conceptual and 3D design skills proficiently utilizing program such as Sketchup.
- Outstanding graphic presentation skills.
- Demonstrated creative ability and strong visual presentation skills.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, InDesign, and Photoshop.
- Ability to travel to domestic and international client and project sites.
- Team player; strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects and tasks.
- Must be a motivated self-starter with ability to solve complex design issues both individually and collaboratively.
- Very strong sense of style, color, materials, and scale.
- Hospitality experience is a major plus.
- A passion for food and dining is very desirable.
