Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services award-winning consulting firm has an exciting opportunity for a full-time senior project architect to join our government facilities team. Responsibilities include leading production of architectural design/build and design / bid / build construction documents; coordinating multi-disciplinary in-house and sub-consultant team members; and working with clients and contractor/developer design/build partners. Travel will be required.
The successful candidate must have all of the following:
- Bachelor of architecture degree (5-year degree) from an accredited school or college, or a bachelor’s degree in architecture plus a master’s degree in architecture from an accredited school or college.
- Architect license in any state with the ability to obtain WI license within six months of hire.
- At least twelve years of relevant architecture experience.
The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:
- NCARB (or ability to obtain within six months);
- Experience with DoD, ARNG and/or ANG, COE, NAVFAC or similar military clients;
- Experience preparing design / build construction packages, drawings, specifications (Master Spec or SpecsIntact preferred);
- Experience coordinating architectural engineering documents;
- Proficiency in DrChecks;
- Experience with AutoCAD, BIM (Revit and / or Bentley preferred);
- Construction observation experience; the ability to lead project teams and mentor junior architectural staff, handle a fast-paced lead project architect position, and work well under pressure;
- Good organizational, listening, and clarification skills. Relevant experience as a project architect for government facilities (including university buildings) and/or aviation facilities projects is a plus.

We are actively seeking Intermediate Architects with 2-6 years of experience. Candidates must have a professional degree. The ideal candidate will be well organized, self motivated and committed to all facets of building design and detailing. The employee will be involved in all phases of work from code and zoning analysis, programming, schematic design, construction documents and construction administration.
