Scalar Architecture is currently seeking a Designer with three to five years of experience to work on a variety of different tasks including design, managing projects, drafting, modeling, marketing, and office management. Scalar Architecture is an award winning New York City based architecture firm. The firm engages in interdisciplinary modes of architectural design, particularly as they apply to landscape and urban design. The work ranges from small residential and commercial projects, to multistory buildings, to hospitality projects in Central America. Our current projects consist of ongoing residential and institutional work and a masterplan project.

We are looking to fill the position immediately and will be interviewing until we find a suitable candidate. We expect the candidates to stay and grow with Scalar. Scalar will provide a salary based on need and experience. Being a small office, our designers are exposed to all aspects of practice in a horizontal organization. Please provide salary expectations and availability.

All applicants must be residents of NYC and surrounds and have a fine command of English. Scalar will not assume further responsibility regarding visa acquisition and relocation.

Applicants must have:

- Professional degree in architecture.
- 3-5 years of experience, having seen projects through all phases of design and construction, with emphasis on NYC DOB filings.
- Experience managing teams, internal or external, including milestones, deadlines, and budgets.
- Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.
- High level of proficiency in various 2D and 3D software, including BIM.
- Strong working knowledge of professional drawings as well as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Enrolled in IDP and working towards licensure.
- Capacity to work effectively with a team.
- Independently motivated with a great work ethic.
- Ability to reason and take initiative to complete project goals.
