Creative Interior Designer
17/11/2015An award winning and internationally acclaimed design consultancy based in London, specialising in retail, is looking for an inspiring Team Leader to join their company.
The individual they are looking for will be confidently client-facing and must possess an interest of what is at the forefront of retail design (globally). You will be strongly creative as well as a good all-rounder, enabling you to work across the conceptual design development stages of a project (from preparation through to briefing), through to concept design and design development (interior architecture and retail fixtures / furniture).
Key day-to-day tasks of the Design Team Leader include:
- Leading and managing a small team (2-4 people).
- Working in synergy and reporting to the Associate and Board Director teams.
- Consistent management and communication with the client.
- Day-to-day responsibility of running allocated projects both in the studio and on-site.
- Demonstrate and practise the awareness of existing and emerging global retail trends.
- Promote motivation and inspiration within your team.
- Ensure Project deliverables.
Key attributes of the Design Team Leader include:
- 7-10 years of agency experience, preferably in the fashion retail sector with large scale boutique / department stores (10-35k sqm).
- Proven experience in the production of delivery packages (design, development, detail design and construction drawings/tender packs) and on-site coordination.
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant qualification in related field.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent relationship building and people management skills.
- Strong visualising and presenting skills.
- Fluent in VectorWorks 2D and 3D.
- Adobe Creative Suite experience required.
- Personable, presentable and punctual individual.

We are actively seeking Intermediate Architects with 2-6 years of experience. Candidates must have a professional degree. The ideal candidate will be well organized, self motivated and committed to all facets of building design and detailing. The employee will be involved in all phases of work from code and zoning analysis, programming, schematic design, construction documents and construction administration. MDSA provides excellent opportunities for individuals to excel professionally in an energetic environment where personal growth is encouraged.
Candidates must have excellent communication skills and be well organized for working in a studio environment. Strong graphic skills and software proficiency is required. Only applicants local to the NYC metro area please.
