Urban Designer
17/10/2016A vacancy has become available at a leading international, multidisciplinary consultancy for the below position.
Main Duties:
- Assisting in the design of master planning and urban design projects.
- Helping to co-ordinate and manage the technical inputs of other consultants within the business, the Dar Group and external consultants.
- Assisting in the preparation of reports and creating presentations, drawings and other deliverables and ensuring that they are submitted on time and to the highest standards.
- Assisting in the preparation of proposals for new projects.
Person Specification
Essential
- A Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or Architecture.
- A Master’s Degree in Urban Design from a top ranked, world-renowned university.
- Excellent Design and Presentation skills. Must show attention to detail.
- A good knowledge of best practice in design and sustainable development.
- Strong hand-sketching ability.
- Excellent 3D modelling skills in Rhinoceros and Sketch up.
- High competency in AutoCAD.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good report writing abilities.
- Must have initiative, motivation and be a team player.
Preferred
- Preference will be given to candidates with a Master’s Degree that is Distinction or First Class.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience of projects in UK, the Middle East, and developing countries.
Knowledge of a second language is an added bonus. Salary £33,000 - £36,000 Per Annum + holiday / bonus / travel expenses.

The ideal applicant will have up to 2 to 3 years min. Experience in all phases of design and construction documents. We need someone who is self-motivated, enthusiastic and organized.
